Description: This site provides information about the modeling method for high school physics instruction. The modeling method is an approach to curriculum design and teaching methodology which focuses on engaging students in understanding the physical world by constructing and using scientific models to describe, to explain, to predict and to control physical phenomena. In this method instruction is organized into modeling cycles which move students systematically through all phases of model development, evaluation, and application in concrete situations. The website provides detailed information and includes numerous articles and presentations about the modeling method. Sample curriculum materials that use the modeling method can be downloaded from the website. Descriptions and results of research and evaluation on the modeling method is also included.
