Description: As part of the SACNAS Biography Project website, this resource higlights Female Native American and Chicano or Latino scientists. The mission of SACNAS is to encourage Chicano/Latino and Native American students to pursue graduate education and obtain the advanced degrees necessary for research careers and science teaching professions at all levels.These pages are designed as a resource for K-12 educators who are interested in teaching their students about the accomplishments of Chicano/Latino and Native American scientists. Profiles of scientists, mathematicians and engineers have been written at the middle school and high school levels and are organized in the following ways: by scientist's last name, by scientific subject/discipline, by grade level, and by women scientists. This resource is appropriate for all users, particularly for ethnic minorities, because it acknowledges contributions to STEM by people of ethnic minorities.
