Url: http://www.campbell-kibler.com/Stereo.pdf
Contributor: Patricia B Campbell (author)
Campbell-Kibler Associates (publisher)
Jennfier N Storo (content provider)
Description: As educators, and as people, we tend to assume that females and males are different. We see someone's sex as an important predictor of their abilities and interests. However, knowing someone's sex tells us very little about them and their skills. This resource expolores how we stereotype and why sex is an inaccurate predictor of abilities. Many examples are drawn from science and math abilities. This resource was written/developed by a woman and addresses concerns relating to gender-bias and/or discrimination.
