FDA/NSTA professional development program in food science

Taking advantage of the new understandings in food science, science educators have an opportunity to provide topically relevant lessons in food science for their students. To prepare teachers to do this requires a sustained effort. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Science Teachers Association (NSTA) have joined as partners to initiate and implement a professional development program in Food Science consistent with the National Science Education Standards. This resource is appropriate for all users as it provides useful background information to enhance STEM teaching and learning for all.

This section of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) website explains the Eleanor Roosevelt Teacher Fellowships, available to female K-12 teachers interested in girls' math, science and technology education and in promoting equity and reform. The fellowships, up to 10,000 dollars, are awarded to women public school teachers to fund professional development. Determine eligibility and download forms. This resource is appropriate for all users, particularly for girls and women, because it informs girls and women about activities targeted at them such as summer camps, educational programs, scholarships, internships, professional development, and professional organizations
