This World Wide Web (WWW) site contains an electronic version of a guide, the first of the planned addenda to the NATIONAL SCIENCE EDUCATION STANDARDS (NSES), that was written to discuss the meaning and multiple roles of inquiry in the classroom, summarize the research and scholarly writings that argue for the value of inquiry in science education, and identify actions that need to be taken to support inquiry in the classroom.
